We weren’t at all surprised to learn that Alexa Chung is following in the footsteps of Kate Moss and more recently Coco Rocha as the new face of Longchamp SS14. Whisked off to St. Tropez for the shoot, it couldn’t be better timing as the French brand prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Le Pliage bag. We all know about the modelling Alexa did for Mulberry; they even named a bag after her and that flew off the shelves!
While things aren’t slowing down for the superstar ‘It’ girl it’s still far too early for us to be thinking about Spring and Summer so we’ll shift our focus to one of Alexa’s other projects, Eyeko. She has collaborated with the bespoke cosmetics label, which was established in 1999 by Max and Nina Leykind.
WWD reports that Chung is advising the brand on products. “It’s a creative relationship,” she said of the company, “I send images and different inspirations to Max and Nina and we go from there. It’s quite free form at the moment.”
“Liquid liner is my saviour,” Chung says. “Other people like other things to feel like they look normal, but for me, I’m pretty much naked without my eyeliner on. It’s my comfort blanket.” Jokingly, she added, “I penned the book with the eyeliner!”
The limited edition set includes eye do liquid eyeliner of which Chung says “This gives me precision and control to draw my favourite cat eye look. I love that it enhances my lashes each time I use it.” To complete the look the set includes eye do mascara “This is how I get longer, thicker-looking lashes without the hassle of falsies. It stays on forever but feels amazing thanks to all the lash enhancing magic in the mix.”
Exclusive to Sephora (www.sephora.com), Selfridges (www.Selfridges.com) and Space N.K (www.uk.spacenk.com) we managed to get our hands on a set. We can confirm it really is that good! Eyes felt made up without feeling heavy, it’s really easy to tidy up and didn’t budge all day.
Be quick as we at Expressive Thoughts think it’ll be gone within the blink of an eye!
